Reloaded Character Arcs
Trinity -
She goes from having a might crush on Neo to being his true love. She
has to deal with his role in the society, in the human world and among
rogue programs that recognize him, separating her heart from her missions.
In the first film, he - and thus, her heart - was her mission.
Morpheus -
His characters goes from being a zealot on a small stage to a "national"
political leader, meaning that he is the focus of doubt, speculation
and from the masses of humans, adulation. But in the process of Reloaded,
he beliefs are challenged, leading to a loss of absolute faith in the
final minutes of the film. And as you know, survival inside of The Matrix
relies on your internal faith.
The Oracle -
The idea that she was "one of us" is splattered, as her status
as a rogue program is established. Not only that, she is responsible
for the existence of The Matrix.
Former Agent
Smith - His character has the greatest arc. Freed from his role
as an agent, Smith is taking on the human characteristics he so loathed
in the original, starting with vanity. When he first sees Neo after
all those months, he stays in the background, waiting to see how the
agents fare. When he comes to Neo again, it is en masse. Finally, and
most importantly, he finds a way to get outside of The Matrix and into
the human world.
