Before I ask you
to click through to the column, which we’re posting on MCN because it’s
about the Oscars, I have two words for you…
Ginnifer.
Goodwin.
She’s now made two
movies. And she’s going to make a lot more. Like all movie stars, she
is unique, itching to fit in a category, yet somehow beyond categorization.
She’s 5 foot 6 inches tall and seems to fit the characterization that
dogged Brittany Murphy before she became an anorexic sex nymph.
But again, Goodwin is up to something else altogether. She can be the
funny sidekick, but give her a scene and she holds that screen as well
as anyone.
This is, oddly,
Ginnifer Goodwin’s week. On Monday night, she got to see herself
in her first ever film, Mona Lisa Smile for the first time. On
Wednesday, she will be part of a shockingly aggressive effort by DreamWorks
to launch Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!, their 2004 romantic
comedy, as the studio gathers media to focus on the film at a party
in Westwood.
She was born in
Memphis, studied at Boston University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic
Arts in London and hasn’t stopped working since she got to L.A., starting
on the NBC series, Ed.
