I'm still working on the MCN column for today. A column reader gave me grappa last night and it slowed my brain down even more than usual. So there will be a column at MCN before 1p, but no THB... again...

But there is a READER OF THE DAY: The legend known as Taiwan Steve writes about AVP: "OK. I like it, But I am not as exciting as I saw "Resident Evil", the director Paul W.S. Anderson's previous flim. For me, "Resident Evil" is a film related to "Aliens", both have three major female characters. Two of them must work together to fight the last one who called "Queen".

As You know, Paul likes to make all his films happened in the closed environment, let characters were trapped in. "Even Horizon", "Solider", "Resident Evil". He did the same thing for "Alien Vs Predator".

I guess why I enjoyed "Alien" series so much, because all these Aliens were portrayed as "good guy", they would always hunt some evil characters, killed them. But in "AVP", it doesn't happen. Aliens are some creatures that we have to kill them all by joining other forces. Ripley always did the same mission on her own. OK? She never need other species to help her. That's why "AVP" can't be much fun as the previsous "Alien" series.

To tell the truth, I really miss James Cameron now. He's the real guy who make "Alien", "Terminator" became the franchises, live longer than any one who could ever predicate. It's time to bring him back on business, FOX! The Flood over New York city of "The Day After Tomorrow" is just like the scene from his "Abyss, director's cut". "I, Robot" only reminds me who good James is at making action/sci-fi movie, "Terminator" series, even though Alex and Will also did the great job this time. "AVP" is not bad, it only wakes up all my admire for James Cameron did in "Aliens".

Bring Him back, Please! Then Fox can make "Alien VS Predator VS Species" directed by James "The King of World" Cameron, starring Leonardo. It will be the hit, I promise. The Fox and MGM can totally beat up "The War of the World" from Tom Cruise and Steven Speilberg next summer. Take My words, Bring Him back! You need HIm!

By the way, Bill Paxton is the only actor who appeared in "Aliens" and "Predator 2". Paul W.S. Anderson should write a charater specially for him in his screenplay.Isn't it fun to watch Bill fights then get killed one more time by these monster from outter space?"

E ME: And with that, I am off!!!!
