It's National Hot Button Isn't Happening Today Day!

My apologies to the 27 of you who are still in Hollywood today (and all the ships at sea), but Toronto preparations have overwhelmed me yet again. How many movies can one see before one's brain explodes? I'll let you know when I finish finding all the big chunks.

It's not like anything is happening out there anyway. But there will be a big Friday column with at least two actual movie critiques and enough meat to fill you for a three-day weekend. Then next week, starting on Thursday, it's wall-to-wall Toronto coverage.

Have a lovely day.

READER OF THE DAY: If I'm taking the day off, thank goodness that I have Taiwan Steve to fill the void: "Joan Allen and Brian Box both appeared in "The Bourne Supremacy". That's funny. Becuae this is the second time they both showed up in one movie. The movie is called "Manhunter", years later remake as "Red Dragon". Joan Allen is Reba McClane, played by Emily Watson in "Red Dragon ". Brain Cox is Dr. Hannibal, played by Anthony Hopkins in "Red Dragon". But Joan and Brain never share a scene together in "Manhunter", Reba is some kind of victim of Dr. Hannibal. So in "The Bourne Supremacy", Joan finally got her chance to get even, They yelled each other. It looks so much fun."

Karl Urban is a such busy actor this summer. He stared in two movies, both from Universal, and both are sequels("The Chronicles of Ridieck" and "The Bourne Supremacy"), both starring a Hollywood hotshot with a big name (Vin Diesel and Matt Dammon), both are sequels without the number 2 but the number 3 is still to come. The most fun part is, He both played the villian who never appear in the first movie! In other words, His character pop up from nowhere! Is it a coincidence or what?

Oh, by the way, if there's any THB memory stands out above any other, there're always be these THB with Me as the Reader of the Day. Think abou it, David, You started your column in 1997, and I started to be your loyaly fan from then. I have been the Reader of the Day about more than 35 times in the past 7 years, that means I totally know how to make it better. I think I am cool enough to make your THB stands out above any other. Besides, I bought Your lunch in News Room last year, I guess I deserve that honor. Please give me the medal."

E ME: Does Taiwan Steve deserve the medal?
