Yesterday, I musically
called out DreamWorks as a company on the way out of Dodge. They disagree.
I showed concern
that no schedule listing organization that I know of had any live action
films from the company on the 2005 schedule other than the holdover
The Ring 2. So, they sent me their Live
Action Line-Up
and their Animation
Line-Up for 2005.
Looking at the list,
the only film with a hard date other than Ringdou is The Island,
the Michael Bay & Scarlett-in-a-bikini actioner. There are
two undated Fall movies and one completely undated title.
In the past five
years, DreamWorks has made 7, 5, 6, 5, and 7 non-animated movies. And
so, 2005 looks like one of their quiet years. But not silent.
Since I was writing
them off in song, I thought I would offer this, also in song...
Good films and bum
films,
They've seen them all and, my dear
They're still here
Walter Parkes stuck round
DeLuca, he wasted two years
But they're here
They've pushed for Oscars
In the news
Won for the Beauty
Not the Jews
Playa Vista disappeared
But they're here
Big animation
Now it's a hot I.P.O.
And they're here
Music biz fell out
TV ate much of their dough
But they're here
They stocked the comp'ny
With the best
Each film was treated
Unlike the rest
In the real slow times were they depressed?
No where near
They have Paul Allen's money
And they're here
Lord knows at least they were there
But they're here

rating on "Bad Education", Sony Pictures Classics should include
a Gael Garcia Bernal bobble-head doll in their awards promo package."

Is you head bobbing?
